Ebony Angels

As a child I was taught that the most peaceful way to die would be in my sleep. There would be no pain, no final thoughts, no memories.  Dying in your sleep  would be like the moment you go under anesthesia, so quick you only remember the vivid nothingness of the kalopsiaous world that only ever exist in dreams. How could dying in your sleep not be the best way to go?

Every 24 hours during the hours of darkness a majority of the world takes the risk to doze off into oblivion. Unaware they lay only guarded  by the thick quilt that provides them warmth and comfort. They think this is enough.

I regret to  inform you that they are wrong

A quilt will not  shield you from the the ebony angels that roam freely during the night. These angels are not evil beings. They have no intent to cause harm, they were simply just doing their job. The job that  they have been bestowed with since the beginning of time. They were the beings who delivered the dead and living to the other side.

Those who have already passed were the easiest  to deliver. Their body had no way of resisting when the angels came like they did every night. Their soul would lay defenseless in the empty vessel that was once its home.  Delivery was always swift and simple.

Dealing with the living was when complications often happened. The soul from the body of a living being could only be picked up when the body was sleeping . It is difficult for angels to tell the difference between someone who is in slumber and someone who has passed. They may not revisited a location once they have been there.

This is one of the most ultimate rules that may never be disobeyed. With this in mind angels take the risk of carrying a sleeping body to the other side. Sleeping bodies are very different to dead bodies. These bodies fight with every last unconscious muscle within them. Some angels are strong and still carry these squirming bodies to the other side. Many are not and drop these bodies back where they originally rest.

Have you ever wondered why you suddenly wake up feeling like you have fallen?

kalopsia- The delusion of things being more beautiful than they really are. (origin: Greek)
